THE KITCHEN AT STORYHOUSE

Is there anything not to love at Storyhouse? Ever since this epic venue opened, life has just got better in Chester.

The incredible live performance programme all year round brings joy to so many people, and their summer schedule with Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre and Moonlight Flicks in the Deans Field is truly magical. The library is awesome and the boutique cinema is the comfiest for miles around…

But downstairs in the auditorium is where the real magic happens for me. Great food and drink is one thing, but great food and drink paired with superb entertainment, epic events and awesome community gatherings is something else entirely!

The Kitchen at Storyhouse is part bar, part restaurant, part bistro, part café and anything else you would like it to be. Plenty of space and light streaming in from ceiling-to-wall windows makes for a delightful multi-use communal space full of the hustle and bustle from all sorts of local people and city visitors alike.

The menu is Eastern Mediterranean and is of superb quality with some of the best brunch and lunch dishes in the city (the feta hash with fried egg in a brioche bun is totally delish!). The menu is extensive and varied, and seeing as they serve food from 9am till 9pm, there really is something for everyone and at any time of the day. The ‘things in a bowl / kebabs’ dishes are excellent, and the ‘bits and bobs’ are perfect for a few hours very well spent with your besties. The bar is fully stocked and the coffee selection always hits the spot.

We absolutely love The Kitchen at Storyhouse. It’s a really interesting place to be, and there are plenty of books to read while you take some time out to regroup and recharge in this people’s sanctuary right in the heart of the city.
