VIN SANTO IS THE PERFECT CRYPTED VENUE AS THE NIGHTS DRAW IN THIS WINTER

written by the Vin Santo team

Vin Santo is housed within an atmospheric 13th Century crypted cellar.  Barely touched in 700 years and with the original stonemason marks which are still visible, it is immediately impressive and awe-inspiring.

As you enter 21 Watergate Street you are met by gloriously stocked shelves full of fabulous wine, champagne and spirits.  As you meander through the crypt you’ll soon happen upon our hidden bar in a slightly later barrel brick cellar, equally atmospheric and steeped in local history.

As well as the shop, Vin Santo’s bar serves an impressive champagne & wine list that changes weekly, as well as offering a special selection of meticulously curated fine wines.  If wine is not your drink of choice, we also have a concise sipping and guest beer list.

Let them eat cheese! Vin Santo also serves a modest but exceptional quality food menu, including some of the best French cheese and a fantastic saucisson and delicious pâté from Scotland.

Cheese is always good, but when it’s melted French Raclette and generously poured over cooked local potatoes with the most delicious pickles, it’s even better…  This dish makes Thursday nights so much better. For just £12 per person, it’s an absolute must. Our highly knowledgeable team can also help you select a glass of wine (or two) to enjoy with your traditional Raclette.

Vin Santo makes the perfect destination as we approach the cold, dark nights. We will be serving our Raclette through the festive season, a great excuse to take a break from all the Christmas shopping.
