STREET PARTY WITH STALLS, STREET FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT IN HANDBRIDGE
Join in the family fun, on Sunday 25 June, 11am – 6pm, and celebrate summer at the community event taking place in Handbridge between The Ship Inn and Handbridge pub. The main road will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event, with artisan stalls, street food, arts and crafts and entertainment for all ages.
Following the success of last year’s Jubilee Street Party, which saw hundreds of residents and visitors enjoying the Handbridge Community Association-organised event, volunteers have come together again to put on another event for everyone to enjoy.
Foodies will find a variety of cuisines on offer including BBQ from Edge’s the Butchers, Ruan Orchid and teas and cakes served in St Mary’s Handbridge Centre 12pm – 4pm. Local favourites The Ship Inn and The Grosvenor Arms pub will be serving as usual along with Chester Beer & Wine.
After shopping for gifts and treats at the artisan stalls visitors can enjoy a full lineup of entertainment on the main stage in the Co-op car park with live music from local artists including House of Dance and Two Dead Ends and performances from House of Dance. And for younger visitors, there will be face painting and children’s fairground rides too!
Steve Hart, Chair of the Handbridge Community Association said ‘Following the success of last year’s Jubilee Street Party we had many requests from residents and businesses to make it an annual event. So, we’re back by popular demand and are delighted to be holding the Summer Festival in Handbridge.
