The Chester Fields, Great Barrow
Such a great quality venue championing local produce, with the most magnificent views over the Cheshire plains. With a beautiful beer garden and brand-new outside Oak & Smoke Pizza Kitchen, this venue really does have it all. This is most definitely a firm favourite, independent dining pub with a stunning outside space (with lots of cover to protect from the Great British Weather! and great food using the best ingredients sourced from their doorstep.

The Forge Restaurant, Chester
The Forge is one of the city’s best restaurants, and it’s no surprise they have a Michelin recommendation. Their stunning Sunday Roasts are now accompanied by live music on the last Sunday of every month from 2pm till 4pm. Chez Jules
Can you believe that Chez Jules is now 25 years old? One of the city’s most established and loved independent restaurants, Chez Jules continues to look after its many customers with superb food and drink, super-friendly service and that wonderful French-themed interior that we have grown to love so much over the years. And their Sunday Roast is as good as it’s ever been!
The Cornerhouse
The Cornerhouse serves a choice of roast lamb, pork or topside of beef (with all the trimmings) plus a mixed roast and a veggie option – and best of all, they even serve a special doggie roast with bone broth for your favourite furry family member.You can also enjoy board games with the family or read the Sunday papers in one of the city’s nicest independent dining pubs.

Upstairs at The Grill, Chester
Undoubtedly the city’s favourite steak restaurant, you would expect this Sunday Roast to be absolutely epic – and you’d be right, it really is. These roasts are served with homemade beefy Yorkshire pudding, crisp fluffy roast potatoes, confit rainbow carrot, tenderstem broccoli, roast onion cream, beef jus. Every Sunday 12pm -7pm.

Every Sunday at Six One Six Bar & Restaurant it’s Stripped Back Sunday.
Join them to enjoy their signature roast dinner and enjoy live music all afternoon performed by the brilliant Michael Kamara.
He will be performing 3 x 40 minute sets with the first beginning at 12.30pm and the final set finishing at 4.45pm
Northgates, Chester

Surprise, surprise—you’ll find it on Northgate Street. Run by wonderful host Tony and his team of passionate hospitality aficionados, Northgates has to be one of the friendliest venues in the city. So, it’s fabulous news that they are now serving an absolutely banging Sunday roast for £14—all in!

Barlounge is still one of the city’s favourite venues. Always great quality with a wonderful welcome from a team who really care about your Good Times in Chester. They serve a fabulous roast on a Sunday with a killer glass of red – as well as the rest of their fabulous menu (sticky sausages are still on!), cocktails and the usual Barlounge love!

The Coach House Inn
The Coach House Inn has been serving a loyal crowd of food and drink lovers on Northgate Street for many years. This friendly team believe in serving great quality, locally produced food and drink, and their Sunday Roast is always spot on! Expect proper portions and a very warm welcome indeed.

The Pied Bull, Chester
One of the oldest Inns in the city and with some fabulous surprises (like a Microbrewery, stunning bedrooms and a beautiful secret garden), The Pied Bull also serves one of the best Sunday Roasts in Chester within the pub (said to be haunted), or outside in their gorgeous hidden garden right in the middle of the city. We love it!

The Boathouse, Chester
This venue really does have it all – great beer from JW Lees Brewery, a fabulous outside space with super-cute beach huts and a floating barge – 17 beautiful Riverside bedrooms and the most stunning location right on the River Dee itself. And one of the best Sunday Roasts in town. Enjoy!

Ring O Bells, Christleton
Another one of our favourite Great Cheshire Pubs, Ring O’Bells Christleton is thoroughly deserving of its place as one of Chester’s best dining pubs with a fabulous Sunday Roast always cooked to perfection by Andrew King and his award-winning team. They have created a magical outside space with that awesome dining tipi, and they get super-busy – so be sure to book!

Duttons Chester
This wonderful and totally unique venue from expert brewery and pub group JW Lees is much more a refined restaurant and bar than a traditional hostelry. A gorgeous refurb in January 2020 was swiftly covered back up with the arrival of the pandemic. We may have had a few glimpses between lockdowns, but now it’s time to reacquaint yourselves with this stunning city-centre venue with one of the very best Sunday roasts in town! And let’s not forget the location on the prettiest street in the city too, right next to our glorious cathedral.

The Goshawk, Delamere
Just 15 minutes drive outside of the city and one of our very favourite dining pubs, Neil and the team have created one of the best Great Cheshire Pubs – with a fabulous outside space overlooking a perfectly manicured bowling green (how very Cheshire!), The Goshawk is of great quality and is so worth a little foodie journey out-of-town.

Opera Grill, Chester
Sundays are seriously fun days at Opera Grill. A fabulous Sunday lunch menu is teamed with amazing wines and cocktails plus super-groovy beats. Always a great experience inside or out – their new pimped-up terrace is definitely the place to be seen on our favourite day of the week.
Palm Court, Pulford
There are carveries, and then there is the Palm Court Sunday carvery! My family and I have enjoyed this fabulous Sunday feast on many occasions and it is always superb! Great quality, lots of choices and everything is cooked and perfection. Palm Court is also super-gorgeous, so this is an affordable treat for everyone.
The Fishpool Inn, Delamere
The Nelson family do proper dining pubs very, very well – and The Fishpool Inn in Delamere is no exception. They invested serious money into this stunning foodie pub with a fabulous outside space a number of years ago, and it is still as brilliant today as it was when it was first created. Excellent quality all-round, the food is always superb and their Sunday Roast is a firm Cheshire favourite.

The Pheasant Inn, Burwardsley
I absolutely love The Pheasant! Not only is the location right in the heart of the Cheshire countryside totally idyllic, but the pub itself is traditional, super cosy and incredibly welcoming, The outside space is delightful and the views over the Cheshire plains are simply breathtaking. Sundays were made to be spent at The Pheasant Inn as their Sunday roast is always excellent. Your furry friends are also very welcome indeed and there are some fabulous walks to enjoy to work up an appetite.
