My how we missed Barlounge throughout lockdown! They have been serving one of the very best Sunday Roasts in Chester for 20 years, and we think it just got better and better. So book in today and enjoy a fabulous Sunday Roasts with al the trimmings, perfectly accompanied by great service and a super-relaxed Sunday vibe.
The Suburbs Hoole
Everyone’s favourite neighbourhood bar and restaurant – The Suburbs in Hoole serves a fabulous Sunday Roast which you can also order from their app to take-out. The meat is sourced by local butcher David Joinson and I have to say, its always excellent.
The Pied Bull Chester
One of the oldest Inns in the city and with some fabulous surprises (like a Microbrewery, stunning bedrooms and a beautiful secret garden), The Pied Bull also serves one of the best Sunday Roasts in Chester. We love it!
The Ship Inn Handbridge
This fabulous independent Chester pub restaurant has had itself a marvellous-makeover during lockdown and has emerged looking fabulous – this food is so good as Lance and his team are pretty passionate about proper Chester hospitality.
The Boathouse Chester
This venue really does have it all – great beer from JW Lees Brewery, a fabulous outside space with super-cute beach huts and a floating barge – 17 beautiful Riverside bedrooms and the most stunning location right on the River Dee itself. And one of the best Sunday Roasts in town. Enjoy!
The Yard Chester
One of our favourite Chef Patron’s – Carl Noller still heads up this fabulous restaurant on City Road and the food has received rave reviews since its refurb and relaunch after lockdown. We have visited many times now and have loved it on every visit – and the Sunday roast is fantastic!
Ring O Bells Christleton
Another of our favourite Great Cheshire Pubs, Ring O Bells Christleton is thoroughly deserving of its place as one of Chester’s best dining pubs with a fabulous Sunday Roast. And yes, #DeliverIan is still delivering! So if you’re more comfortable at home then order it in! Email ian@ringobellschester.co.uk to book your slot.
The Goshawk
Just 15 minutes drive outside of the city and one of our very favourite dining pubs, Neil and the team have created one of the best Great Chehsire Pubs – with a fabulous outside space and plenty of space inside, The Goshawk is great quality and is so worth a little foodie journey.
The Black Dog Waverton
We are super-impressed with this fabulous venue which keeps on getting better and better as owners Matt and Bec find new ways to WOW us every week. And their Sunday Roast? Its excellent.
Duttons Chester
This fabulous Chester bar restaurant has been around for over 22 years, but looks a fresh as a daisy thanks to its refurb ate the beginning of the year. Kyle and his team certainly know a thing or two about hospitality and I know how great their Sunday roast is … get it booked!
Olive Tree Brasserie
From France to Greece – and again Olive Tree Brasserie has nailed Greek Mediterranean dining – but their Sunday Roast is totally awesome too.
Rowton Poplars Hotel Waverton
This is such special and unique venue – a lovely bright hotel with a great quality restaurant and bar. Whatever you thought about a carvery – think again! This one is fantastic and they have one of the best beer gardens for miles.
Big Hand Alehouse Chester
We love Big Hand Alehouse – everything they do is done with love including great quality ales from their own local brewery and good honest pub grub from their kitchen. Sunday Roast is really good and there’s plenty of it – what more do you need on a Sunday?

Commonhall Social
Commonhall have reopened their doors this weekend, and that means they’ll be serving their famous Sunday Roast today, as well as their super-cute doggie roast too.
