A country-style dining pub right in the heart of the city, with a stunning new outside space.
If you love good food, drink and alfresco dining then it’s time to take another look at The Lock Keeper. This long-standing Chester venue has recently been refurbished and reborn, and now sits proudly among the city’s best independently run destinations as a great quality bar, restaurant and events venue with a stunning new Canalside terrace.
The owners and team of The Lock Keeper have made a significant investment in creating this all-new, upgraded bar and dining experience right in the heart of the city and is just a very short walk from all of the major hotels and attractions.
The new 70-seat terrace is the perfect place to sit, relax, unwind and watch the world go by on the Shropshire Union Canal while enjoying great service from General Manager James and his super-passionate team. And you can enjoy some quality time with your furry friends as dogs are welcome too. This stunning new outside space also makes the perfect location for alfresco events and celebrations, just ask the team for details.
The Lock Keeper now serves a classic pub dining menu with a modern twist or two using plenty of the region’s best locally sourced produce (we hear the Sunday Roast is excellent!). Complementing the superb food is a varied wine list plus a cocktail list full of classics and a few surprises – and the real ale and artisan beer selection has had an upgrade too.
We’re also looking forward to finding out more about their live entertainment programme, and if you love a pub quiz then the team here host one of the best in the city.
There really is something for everyone at the all-new Lock Keeper, so it’s definitely time to either revisit or discover this gem of a city centre venue for the very first time.
